Fund Raising Pub Quizes : The White Horse - Iron Acton

We are very grateful to everybody at The White Horse in Iron Acton who chose the Kodachi Special Needs Judo Club as one of the charities for their charity quiz nights. This resulted in a donation to the club of just over £1,000.

As well as the pleasure of receiving a very welcome donation, those who attended the quiz nights over a number of weeks had great fun. Among those who suffered were Ken Thorne, Helen Goodchild, Dan and Ali Amil-Azizpour, Sue, Andy and Chris (useless) Summerhayes, Ian Thomas, his brother Nigel and other special needs judo supporters. We suffered the ignominy of winning the wooden spoon on two occasions but the humiliation was relieved as this won us bottles of wine.

Our sincerest thanks must go to Ian’s brother, Nigel who suggested the Kodachi Judo club to The White Horse and its regulars for its generosity and to Quizmaster Steve Pennington who not only organised the quizzes but with Nigel came over to Southville to hand over the donation personally.
